Description:

The late J. C. Russell pioneered the work of this assembly. A group of approximately 20 believers began worshiping in a house in Goodwin Park where mother Russell and her family resided. The growth of the church necessitated a change of location. Premises at #68 Wildman Street was therefore rented and and relocation was made to those premises.

1936 – The late Rev. W. T. Witherspoon of Columbus, Ohio, who was one of the leaders of the Pentecostal Church Incorporated, visited the island for the first time and baptized approximately 62 candidates.

1944 – Purchase of #68 Wildman Street was effected.

ev and Mrs. Ralph Reynolds and their four children arrived in Jamaica from Canada to work as missionaries with the growing church.

1949 – Merger of Pentecostal Church Incorporated and the Pentecostal Assemblies of Jesus Christ to form the United Pentecostal Church, Incorporated
The new thrust of world evangelism that resulted in changes in the organizational structure and financial resources had a positive impact upon the development of the work in Jamaica.
The United Pentecostal Church of Jamaica (UPCJ) was incorporated in the laws of Jamaica. Membership numbered approximately 150 persons.

1951 – Completion and dedication of a new sanctuary at 66 Wildman Street

1952Significant contributions have been made to the development of the assembly by its pastors. These include:
-A more structural approach to evangelism. An effective campus ministry under the auspices of the Pentecostal Conquerors Department.
