Description:
The National Heroes Park has a long history of being the home of interesting and notable historical events. Officially renamed in 1973, is the resting place for Jamaica’s National Heroes.

In 1999, this monument was designed by Compass Workshop Limited. The focal point of the monument is the abeng which was instrumental to the culture of the Maroons.

H. T. Repole designed the ten arches to symbolize ten fingers and had them roughened to note the toils of slavery.
