Description:
The birth of the Public Procurement Commission (PPC) was ushered in by the new procurement regime stipulated by a new legislation. The PPC was established on April 1, 2019, in accordance with the Public Procurement Act, 2015. The PPC is the Public Body Corporate that has replaced the National Contracts Commission (NCC).
The PPC is the organisation which examines and gives oversight to public procurement processes. It has the mandate of ensuring value for money, efficiency, integrity and transparency in the public procurement process. The mandate of the Commission is underscored in the Public Procurement Act, 2015, Section 10.
