The Housing Authority of Grenada (HAG) is a statutory body established under Act 33 of 1981 and Act 38 of 1986. It functions under the Ministry of Housing, Lands and Community Development and is administered by a nine-member Board of Directors. The Authority has been in existence for twenty eight (28) years. The primary roles of the Authority are to plan, develop and finance the purchase of housing and land for residential and community development, to provide for the making of loans to assist individuals, to discharge encumbrances and to acquire, provide or improve housing accommodation for themselves and their families. All of the aforementioned activities are being done with respect to housing people of the working class of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique.

The Housing Authority is the premier source of quality affordable housing for the citizens of Grenada. Since its inception, the Authority has invested millions of dollars in the construction of twelve (12) housing developments and the extension of rent-to-own leases, residential land sales, mortgages and material loans throughout the island.

Activities involve the building of homes, the construction of access roads and supplementary infrastructure, and the provision of construction services and specialized construction materials. The Housing Authority is a State-owned Enterprise (SOE). The Government of Grenada is the sole shareholder.
