The Tank-Weld Metals division began operation as a steel stockist in 1987, expanding its range over the years to include an extensive variety of metal products in various types, sizes and profiles, and a later extension in distribution of Lumber and Cement. To reduce importation costs and improve efficiency due to their wide product range, Tank-Weld invested in its own Port and Handling facility. The Rio Bueno Port is on 30 acres of land located on the border of St. Ann and Trelawny. Occupying approximately 1 million square feet of covered warehouse space, the facilities are equipped with overhead cranes to ensure fast loading and protection of their products from corrosive elements. From distribution c entres at Rio Bueno, Seaward Drive in Kingston and Catherine Hall in Montego Bay, they provide island-wide delivery of its products to Hardware Merchants, Building Contractors, Fabricators and various other industries across the entire island.
