Description:

The Club Barbados Resort & Spa Nestled on the beautiful West Coast of Barbados is the truly breath taking and luxurious hotel, The Club Barbados Resort & Spa. This all-inclusive adult only resort is located at Vauxhall, St. James, just a stone’s throw from Barbados’ first town, Holetown. Officially opened in August 2012, this resort is celebrating its 5th year of operations under Elite Island Resorts Caribbean. Mark Grebby, Senior Vice President – Operations of Elite Island Resorts Caribbean explained that though the hotel’s property was originally built over two decades ago, it has undergone extensive renovations. The resort as it is today, has seen significant upgrades. These improvements included the rooms, pools, kitchens and even the electrical system. According to Grebby, The Club has repositioned itself as a solid four star hotel. He further stated that across the Caribbean, bookings were down because there were many people internationally who erroneously believed that the recent hurricanes had devastated all of the Caribbean islands. Thus, some people were unaware that there were some unaffected destinations, such as Barbados, which they could still freely visit and enjoy. Grebbystressed, We have to get the message out that tourism is still open .This Vice President explained just why he thought tourism was such an integral component of the Barbadian economy. Stating that The Club employs approximately 200 people, he further explained that The Club utilises many local products and services such as purchasing produce from Barbadian farmers and using local taxi companies.Looking towards the future of The Club Resort & Spa, he highlighted plans to further upgrade the public areas with improvements to the hotel’s grounds and increased seating for dining on the waterfront. Their restaurant will also see a new buffet area. Staff members will also be provided with increased opportunities for training. At present, one staff member has been selected thus far to pursue studies in the area of hospitality. This fully funded educational opportunity will be completed at Cambridge University. Grebby also stated that Elite Island Resorts Caribbean would continue to seek to promote Barbados as a tourist destination.
