ADMISSIONS OFFICER
We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Admissions Officer to support the efficient processing of patient admissions, insurance pre-authorizations, and medical procedure estimates. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication, attention to detail, sound judgement, and a strong commitment to patient service.
24/7 Operations | 8-Hour Shifts
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process patients for in-patient and out-patient admissions in accordance with the company’s policy.
- Communicating with stakeholders regarding estimated invoices for prospective patients.
- Prepare estimates for various procedures within a reasonable time.
- Assisting patients with queries regarding the various medical procedures and admission.
- Following up with the relevant insurance companies for update on estimated invoice submitted for procedure for prospective patients and contacting prospective patient/doctor with preauthorization response from insurance company.
- Any other related duties as assigned from time to time.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
- Experience in computerized applications, Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of medical terminology as well as medical/surgical procedures.
- Refined customer service skills.
- Proven ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Have visual acuity and accurate command of the English language.
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- A Diploma in Business Studies.
- 5 GCE/CXC/CSEC subjects including Principles of Accounts, Mathematics and English Language.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in the healthcare field.
