Major Changes Ahead: Digicel Shuts Down Loop News and SportsMax

In a landmark decision, Digicel Group has announced a major strategic shift in its operations, including the closure of its flagship media platforms, Loop News and SportsMax.

According to reports:

Loop News operations have ceased immediately.

SportsMax TV will wind up by August 8.

Digicel says this decision comes as part of its effort to integrate and strengthen its business offerings across ICT services, cybersecurity, cloud computing, digital media compliance, and more. The company emphasizes that this pivot is designed to deliver greater value to the region.

While Digicel ends its 11-year journey with Loop News and concludes its tenure as owner of SportsMax (acquired in 2014 along with Scene TV), Trend Media will continue to operate as part of its digital business portfolio.
