Invites suitable, qualified and experienced persons to fill the following post:

Security Guard (EIGS/GS 1)

The incumbent is responsible to patrol and protect the assigned property, promote and enhance safety and security and act as a visible deterrent against irregular activities, also ensure that visitors, students and staff comply with the regulations that govern the College.

Minimum Qualifications & Knowledge/Skills

• NVQ-J HEART – Industrial Security Operations (Level 1) or
• Security Training Certificate with a minimum of eighty (80) hours training conducted by an approved Security Training Trainer or Training Organization.
• CXC passes would be an asset.
• PSRA License.
• Police Record (not more than one (1) year old).
• Six (6) months to one (1) year security related work experience.
• Ability to pass background checks and a drug test.
• Ability to produce detailed written and verbal reports (to include records management).
• Excellent organizational and strong time management skills.
• High degree of flexibility, excellent resourceful skills.
• Good interpersonal, human relations and communication skills.
• Excellent judgment and analytical skills and a keen eye for detail.
• Strong customer service skills and customer focused.
• Must possess a positive and professional attitude.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Patrol designated property to prevent intrusion and breaches of security.
• Monitor and prevent movement of prohibited items onto and out of property.
• Log, monitor and control entry and departure of employees and visitors according to prescribed protocol.
• Prepare written reports of daily activities, observations, and incidents.
• Identify and investigate suspicious behaviour, threats or irregular activity.

Salary

J$71,566.00 per fortnight
