Building Contractor

Organization: Samaritan’s Purse International Relief
Location: Mandeville

The Building Contractor will oversee construction projects, ensuring that work is completed on time, within budget and in accordance with local building codes and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with clients and the shelter team to ensure all project requirements and specifications are completed.
• Monitor project expenses to keep construction within the approved budget.
• Oversee daily construction-site operations to ensure work is carried out efficiently.
• Supervise workers and subcontractors.
• Ensure all construction activities comply with applicable building codes and regulations.
• Enforce strict on-site safety policies to protect workers, visitors and the public.
• Monitor the use of resources on-site to minimize waste.

Requirements

• Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be a consistent witness for Him.
• Associate degree in Construction Management, Structural Engineering or a related field.
• At least five years of practical, on-site construction experience.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, technical plans and specifications accurately.
• Working knowledge of construction methods and Jamaica’s local building codes and regulations.
