PRODUCTION OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR

Rotating Shift — Contract

The Production Supervisor is a critical role in the manufacturing industry, responsible for overseeing the production process and ensuring that it runs smoothly and efficiently. This position requires a combination of technical and leadership skills, as well as the ability to manage employees and meet production goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish daily, weekly and monthly objectives and communicate them to employees
  • Manage the workflow by assigning responsibilities and preparing schedules
  • Guide and coach employees while monitoring their productivity
  • Supervise and monitor employees
  • Conduct personnel performance reviews
  • Instruct new employees on how to safely use machinery and follow procedures
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety guidelines and company standards
  • Oversee the safe use of equipment
  • Verify production output according to specifications
  • Prepare performance and progress reports and present them to senior managers
  • Identify and troubleshoot production issues
  • Ensure all equipment is functioning properly
  • Maintain quality service

Requirements

Minimum Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Certification in Production, Operations Management or an equivalent qualification
  • At least two years’ experience working as a Production Supervisor or in a similar position
  • Strong human relations, communication, time-management, organizational, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Functional proficiency in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Knowledge and experience in bakery or manufacturing operations would be an asset
  • Expert knowledge of GMP, HACCP and FSSC standards and practices
  • Highly professional, ethical and trustworthy
  • Must be able to work shifts, weekends and public holidays to meet operational demands
