The Board of Management of the
Ocho Rios High School
is inviting suitably qualified persons to fill the position of

Dean of Discipline

for September 2026 (Clear Vacancy)

JOB PURPOSE

Assist the principal in providing school-wide leadership so as to promote a positive school culture through positive discipline and meaningful school-wide experiences for all stakeholder groups. Additionally, the Dean of Discipline is responsible for designing, implementing and evaluating systems to ensure the overall security, safety, and wellbeing of students and staff, as we work to increase parental involvement in the learning of their children.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

First Degree with emphasis in any of the following:

  • Psychology
  • Counselling Psychology
  • Social Work
  • Education
  • Behaviour Change

Experience in teaching and management at the secondary level will be an asset.

REQUIRED SKILLS/COMPETENCIES

  • At least 5 years experience working in education, preferably at the secondary level
  • No less than 3 years of experience in educational leadership, programme management or in a supervisory role
  • Must have a proven track record in behaviour/change management
  • Knowledge of crisis management, media relations, behavior modification and change leadership is required
  • Database management and data analysis skills are integral to the post
  • Proven involvement in a range of community building/development activities
  • Proven track record for initiating improvement projects/initiatives in education
  • Knowledge of the legislative framework that guides education is compulsory
  • A working knowledge of special education
  • Demonstrated competence in creating behaviour intervention programmes
