WE ARE HIRING!
FLEET AUTO ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults on commercial fleet vehicles.
- Troubleshoot starting, charging, battery, wiring, lighting, sensor, lift gate, and auxiliary system issues.
- Repair or replace starters, alternators, batteries, wiring harnesses, relays, fuses, sensors, lights, and related electrical components.
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections to reduce repeat breakdowns.
- Provide on-site, off-site, and emergency roadside support when required.
- Perform post-repair testing, battery load testing, and charging system testing.
- Prepare diagnostic reports, repair recommendations, and service completion reports.
- Comply with Jamaican health and safety standards and use appropriate PPE.
REQUIREMENTS:
NVQ-J / CVQ Level 2 or higher in Motor Vehicle Repairs, Automotive Service Repairs, Auto Electrical, or a related automotive discipline.
Formal training from HEART/NSTA Trust, NCTVET, or another recognized technical institution.
Minimum of five years’ hands-on experience in automotive electrical diagnostics and repairs.
Experience working on commercial and fleet vehicles, including trucks, buses, vans, or other heavy-duty vehicles.
Strong knowledge of 12V and 24V electrical systems.
Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams.
Competence using diagnostic scanners, multimeters, battery testers, load testers, and other electrical testing tools.
Ability to respond to emergency repair calls.
