MAINTENANCE ATTENDANT

The HFJ has a vacancy for an enthusiastic and committed professional to join our dynamic team.

The Maintenance Attendant provides comprehensive general maintenance, logistical, and technical support to the Operations Department at The Heart Foundation of Jamaica. The role involves managing building systems, executing preventative maintenance, coordinating repair schedules, tracking equipment inventory, and supporting foundation’s fundraising events. The Maintenance Attendant works closely with the Operations Supervisor to ensure an efficient, safe, and professional facility workflow.

Job Requirements:

• NVQJ Level 2 Diploma or equivalent qualification in a related technical field.
• Minimum two (2) years of experience in general building maintenance and facility repairs.
• Proficient in general repairs across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and cooling systems.
• Execute routine preventative maintenance, including daily water level checks and weekly generator tests.
• Coordinate servicing schedules for major building equipment and monitor fuel supplies.
• Manage the daily opening and securing of the office building premises.
• Assist with furniture moving, facility setups, and organizational fundraising events.
• Physical ability to safely climb ladders, bend, crawl into tight spaces, and use power tools.
• Strong problem-solving, time management, and team collaboration skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Resourceful, organized, and able to work on own initiative under rigid deadlines.
