Position Overview

The Inventory Clerk ensures accurate stock handling and tracking within the distribution area. This role involves physically counting, organizing, and monitoring inventory to support efficient warehouse operations and timely order fulfilment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily physical counts and reconcile with system records
• Receive, unpack, and label incoming shipments; store items in designated areas
• Verify outgoing orders for accuracy before dispatch
• Maintain organized, safe, and efficient storage areas
• Assist with cycle counts, audits, and monthly inventory processes
• Report discrepancies, damaged goods, or shortages promptly
• Operate warehouse equipment safely
• Restock shelves and bins to support replenishment activities
• Collaborate with other staff, e.g. preparatory area, to ensure a smooth workflow

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior warehouse or inventory control experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in stock handling
• Ability to lift and move items up to 50 lbs
• Familiarity with warehouse equipment and safety procedures
• Basic computer skills; inventory system experience is an asset
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
• Must have a valid Food Handlers Permit
• Effective communication and teamwork skills

Working Conditions

• Warehouse environment with frequent standing, lifting, and moving goods
• Exposure to varying temperatures depending on storage areas
• Standard shifts with potential overtime during peak distribution periods
