Instructor – Commercial Food Preparation & Hospitality and Tourism Management

Applications are invited from a motivated, knowledgeable individual to teach Commercial Food Preparation at Levels 1 and 2 and Hospitality and Tourism Management at Level 3.

The successful candidate will deliver practical, engaging instruction and support learners in developing skills for entry-level and supervisory roles in the culinary, hospitality and tourism sectors. Commercial Food Preparation Level 2 focuses on operational commercial cooking skills, while Level 3 hospitality qualifications prepare learners for supervisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Teach Commercial Food Preparation at Levels 1 and 2, including practical food preparation, kitchen safety, sanitation, food handling and related industry procedures.
• Teach Hospitality and Tourism Management at Level 3, including customer service, front-office and operational knowledge, tourism practices and supervisory concepts.
• Prepare lesson plans, demonstrations, practical activities and assessments.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organized learning environment.
• Support students in developing professional conduct, teamwork and workplace readiness.
• Monitor learner progress and provide constructive feedback.

Requirements

• Prior knowledge of commercial food preparation and hospitality/tourism industry operations.
• Ability to teach and demonstrate practical and theoretical content effectively.
• Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• A passion for training and developing learners.
• Relevant industry experience is an asset.
• Formal teaching qualifications are not required. Applicants must have prior knowledge of industry operations and be able to teach the subject areas.
