Department of Correctional Services – Career Opportunities

The Department of Correctional Services (DCS) is one of the three arms of the Ministry of National Security. We contribute to national security by securing, supervising, rehabilitating and reintegrating offenders as productive and law-abiding citizens.

We invite suitably qualified, motivated and service-oriented professionals who are committed to excellence and innovation in public service to apply for the following posts:

Consultant Psychiatrist [HPC/MO 4] – Vacant

Salary Range: $10,762,500 – $12,793,230 per annum and any allowance applicable to the post.

The successful candidate is responsible for planning, managing and implementing health services within the correctional institutions aimed at preventing, diagnosing and treating mental disorder, operating within national guidelines and meeting the highest standard of care.

Minimum Required Qualification and Experience

• Post graduate qualification in Psychiatry.
• Three (3) years as a Psychiatric Resident in a hospital setting.

Public Relations Officer

Salary Range: $3,676,602 – $4,944,621 per annum and any allowance applicable to the post.

The successful candidate will develop and deliver public relations initiatives that strengthen the Department of Correctional Services’ public image, stakeholder engagement and internal communication, while clearly and consistently communicating its policies, programmes, services and achievements.

Minimum Required Qualification and Experience

• First Degree in Mass Communication/Public Relations from a recognised institution.
• At least three (3) years as a Communications Practitioner with research experience.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.
