About Us

FIRM Insurance Brokers Limited is a growing Jamaican brokerage offering insurance, pension and investment solutions to individuals and businesses. We’re looking for a detail-oriented Junior Claims Processor to join our team.

The Role

You will support clients through the claims process, from first notice of loss to settlement, working closely with insurers, adjusters and our internal team.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, log and acknowledge new claims promptly.
• Collect and check claim documents (forms, police reports, estimates, invoices, photos).
• Follow up with insurers, adjusters and clients on claim status.
• Keep accurate claim files and update the claims database.
• Prepare claim submissions and basic correspondence.
• Answer client questions about claim progress with care and professionalism.
• Help prepare claims reports for management.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 CSEC subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.
• 2 years’ experience in insurance, claims or customer service.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Good written and verbal communication.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Able to handle confidential information with discretion.

Underwriter

FIRM Insurance Brokers Limited is a growing Jamaican brokerage offering insurance, pension and investment solutions to individuals and businesses. We’re seeking an experienced Underwriter to strengthen our team.

The Role

You will assess client risks, prepare submissions to insurers, and help secure the best coverage and terms for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Review new business and renewal applications and assess risk.
• Prepare and submit proposals to insurers and negotiate terms and premiums.
• Compare quotations and recommend suitable coverage to clients.
• Review policy documents for accuracy before issuing to clients.
• Manage renewals and endorsements in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate underwriting records and ensure compliance with FSC and internal requirements.
• Build strong relationships with insurers and clients.

Requirements

• Possession of an Insurance Diploma.
• Holds a General Insurance License in Motor.
• 5 CXC qualifications, including Mathematics.
• 2–4 years’ underwriting experience in general insurance (motor, property, liability).
• Good knowledge of insurance products and the Jamaican insurance market.
• Strong analytical, negotiation and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and client service skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with insurance software is an asset.
