Open Position: COLLECTIONS OFFICER
Job Summary:
The Collections Officer is responsible for managing and coordinating the collection of outstanding accounts receivable from clients and partners in the maritime industry. This role demands strong communication skills, a solid understanding of maritime billing and invoicing processes, and a proactive approach to ensuring timely payments while preserving valuable client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor aging reports and proactively follow up with customers to collect outstanding balances.
- Communicate professionally with shipping clients, agents, freight forwarders, and other maritime stakeholders regarding payment statuses.
- Investigate and resolve customer queries and disputes related to billing and invoicing.
- Maintain accurate records of all collection activities, payment arrangements, and correspondence.
- Coordinate with other departments to verify invoice accuracy and ensure timely invoices.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 2–3 years of experience in collections, preferably within the maritime, shipping, or logistics sector.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
