A SMALL LAW FIRM IN KINGSTON INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR THE POSITION OF
CIVIL LITIGATOR/ASSOCIATE
Key Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Interviewing clients and taking statements
- Conducting research
- Drafting opinions, correspondence, pleadings, notices, Wills, contracts and other legal documentation
- Attending Parish Court, Supreme Court and Court of Appeal
- Personal Injury, Insurance, Landlord and Tenant, Wrongful Termination, Disciplinary Proceedings, Judicial Review, Negligence, Debt Collection and Breach of Contract litigation
- Mediation
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.)
- Certificate of Legal Education (CLE)
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in Civil Litigation
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent research skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
