Delta Supply Company Limited is seeking an experienced Chief Accountant for its Finance team. The successful candidate will report directly to the Directors, oversee accounting policies and controls, support timely financial reporting, lead the Financial Accounting Team and oversee the full payroll process.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger accounts.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes.
• Manage payroll and ensure statutory compliance.
• Prepare and review financial statements, reports and budgets.
• Ensure timely submission of statutory returns to government agencies.
• Monitor expenditure, analyse variances and report to budget variances.
• Support monthly reporting, forecasting and annual audits.
• Lead, supervise and develop the Financial Accounting Team.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Directors.

Qualifications and experience

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Professional qualification, for example ACCA.
• At least five years of experience in a similar capacity.
• Auditing experience, with a strong eye for compliance, is an asset.
• Distribution or manufacturing sector experience is preferred.

Key skills and competencies

• High proficiency in Sage 300 and the MS Office Suite.
• In-depth knowledge of IFRS and Jamaican reporting regulations, including PAYE, NHT, NIS and statutory compliance.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Attention to detail, integrity and confidentiality.
