ASSISTANT CHEF

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and presentation of meals to the highest standard
• Ensure sanitation and cleanliness of the kitchen and work areas
• Load and unload dishwashers and ensure proper care of kitchen equipment and utensils
• Demonstrate knowledge of and ability to prepare desserts and salads
• Interact with guests in a pleasant, sociable and professional manner
• Support the Chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations

Requirements

• HEART/NSTA Level 2 certification in Commercial Food Preparation, Food & Beverage Service, Culinary Arts or another relevant hospitality discipline; or an equivalent recognized qualification
• At least 1 year’s experience in a similar capacity in a hospitality environment
• Knowledge of and ability to prepare desserts and salads
• Pleasant, sociable and guest-oriented personality
• Reliable, team player with a strong work ethic
