Description:

Montego Bay Animal Haven was founded in 2009 to raise awareness of the plight of stray and abandoned animals and to try to tackle the problem in north west Jamaica.

In that time, approximately 1,000 animals have been re-homed. And thanks to our rolling programme of clinics, run in conjunction with both local and overseas veterinary professionals, many more have been spayed or neutered.

Our work doesn’t stop there. Another goal is to educate – to teach responsible, compassionate ownership to the next generation. Visits to schools with some of our star rescues as well as supervised group visits to the Haven help us spread the message.

As a registered non-profit organisation, we rely completely on donations, both of time and money. Every little helps. The Haven currently operates from a private home, a situation which is far from ideal. In time we will generate enough support financially and otherwise to secure a more suitable site.
