Dr Dwaine Cooke was born in Westmoreland, Jamaica. After graduating from the Manning’s School he attended the University of the West Indies-Mona where he completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree in 2005 and Doctor of Medicine in Neurosurgery in 2016 with multiple distinctions and honours. He has obtained fellowship training in Pediatric and adult neuro-oncology, neurovascular disorders, and epilepsy surgery at Halifax Health Sciences in Nova Scotia, Canada. Additionally he has also completed an Epilepsy Surgery fellowship training at Yale University, Connecticut, USA

Dr Cooke has received multiple awards including the Jamaica Government Exhibition, the Jamaica Flour Mills Foundation Scholarship and the Linda and Harvey Gellman Award (Canada).

His main goal is to see an Epilepsy Surgery program established in the Caribbean and to see Neurosurgery evolve to first world standards.
