About Caribbean Institute Of Endodontics

Dr. Sashi Nallapati obtained his dental degree from the Govt. Dental College and Hospital, Hyderabad, India. Dr. Nallapati practiced general dentistry in Ocho Rios, Jamaica from 1996 through 2004. During that time his practice was focused in Endodontics. His practice was the first to use Surgical Operating Microscope in Dentistry in Jamaica in 2001.

Dr. Sashi NallapatiDr. Nallapati completed his post graduate training in the specialty of Endodontics from Nova Southeastern University (NSU), Davie, Florida, USA in 2006 where he received the Dean’s award for the outstanding presentation by a resident. After his graduation, he chose to come back to Jamaica and set up a quality centered endodontic practice in Kingston, Jamaica.

He is a member of  Jamaica Dental Association.  He is a founding member and a past president of the International Academy of Endodontics (IAE).  He serves on the faculty of Nova Southeastern University, college of dentistry as a visiting associate professor in the dept. of  Endodontics where he teaches post graduate residents. Dr. Nallapati is also an adjunct lecturer and course leader for endodontics at the University of the West Indies, school for dental medicine,  Kingston, Jamaica.

Dr. Nallapati served on the Dental Council of Jamaica and the examination board.  Dr. Nallapati chaired the Jamaica Dental Association, 44th Annual Convention in 2008 and the 52nd Annual Convention  in 2016 . He is the founder of Kingston Study Club (KSC), the first study club in dentistry in Jamaica with a mission to promote interdisciplinary approach to Dentistry. KSC organizes continuing education courses for members of Jamaica Dental Association by bringing world renowned clinicians to the shores of Jamaica.

In 2014, Dr. Nallapati was awarded the prestigious  Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award by Nova Southeastern University. It is the highest honor NSU confers upon it’s graduates.

Dr. Nallapati authored several clinical articles that were published in both peer-reviewed and clinical journals. He is a contributing author to 2 text books (Grossman’s Endodontic Practice, 12th edition, Best Practices in Endodontics, 1st edition). Please visit this page to view his publications. Dr. Nallapati is an avid cyclist and hiker. He regularly cycles in different parts of the world.  He trekked Mount Rainier, one of the most prominent glacier mountains in North America. In his spare time he likes to read non fiction.

Welcome to the Caribbean Institute of Endodontics, home of world-class Endodontics in Jamaica. We specialize in Endodontics, which is the field of dentistry that focuses on the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of any ailment of the dental pulp. The most commonly known Endodontic procedure is the Root Canal treatment.

Our Mission is to make modern endodontics, with its substantial dental health advantages, fully accessible to all Jamaicans. To achieve this goal, we utilize state of the art technology in dental equipment including the surgical operating microscope, digital radiography, fully electronic patient records, paperless digital office, a well-trained, caring staff and above all, our professional expertise in the field.

Our goal is to provide patients with the best possible dental care options, educating them about optimal oral health treatments in order to improve their overall oral health function, comfort and beauty. We continually strive towards this objective by further enhancing our skills with continuing education and developing a caring relationship with our patients.

Policies & Procedures

Appointments:

Patients are seen strictly by Appointment only. To request an appointment please call us at 876.906.4780 or 876.668.8880 and our staff will be happy to set a suitable appointment for your visit. You may also contact us using our online Contact Form, and we will respond promptly.

Recall system

We have a follow up  system in place where our patients are called or an e-mail sent to remind them of their follow up appointment. This is usually after the endodontic treatment is finished and we want to assess healing and function of the tooth that was treated.

Confirmation

We call our patients 2 working days before their scheduled visit to remind them of their appointment.   An appointment reminder e-mail is also sent out at least 5 working days before their appointment.  Also a deposit needs to be made where longer time is scheduled to accommodate the procedure.

Rescheduling & Cancellation

You are required to kindly give us a notice of minimum two working days by calling our office if you would like to cancel or reschedule your previously made appointment. Appointments where a deposit has been paid, will forfeit the deposit amount if they fail to give us the required advance notice.

Financial Policies

Payment:
For your convenience, we accept all major credit cards, debit cards, manager’s check or cash.

Insurance:
We do not accept health insurance. However, we will assist our patients in the  preparation of their insurance claim forms to facilitate speedy reimbursement.

Deposits:
A deposit is only necessary for appointments which require treatment time. Please note that this deposit is only refundable if at least 48 hours notice of cancellation is given. Otherwise, (without a minimum of 48 hrs. notice) this deposit is non-refundable.
