Bank Of Jamaica

The Bank of Jamaica, established under the Bank of Jamaica Law (1960). Operations officially began in 1961 and since then it has continually met the need for an appropriately regulated financial structure for a nation that was on the verge of and after political independence. The bank is the official banker to the government of Jamaica. Its main objectives are to foster the development of money and capital Jamaican markets, issuing and redeeming notes and coins and to keep and disseminate the countries reserves.
