Jamaica has no national postcode system. Kingston and parts of Lower St. Andrew traditionally use one- or two-digit postal zones, such as Kingston 10.
In June 2005, the Postal Corporation of Jamaica announced plans to introduce a structured postal-code system to improve mail sorting and delivery, particularly for international correspondence. The project was suspended indefinitely in February 2007 following public confusion and limited understanding of the proposed system.
