Required qualifications

• Registered, trained teacher with at least three years of approved service as a trained teacher.
• The advert lists a trained teacher certificate, a postgraduate certificate or diploma in education, or a bachelor’s degree in education.
• A master’s degree in School Leadership or Administration would be an asset.
• Certification from the National College for Educational Leadership (NCEL) would be an asset.

Knowledge and skills

• Sound working knowledge of the laws and guidelines governing the position, including the Education Regulation Act, 1980; Financial Administration and Audit (FAAA) Act; Government Procurement Guidelines; Labour Relations and Industrial Dispute Guidelines; and Child Care and Protection Act.
• Strong knowledge of curriculum development and assessment methods.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical, time management, problem-solving and transformational leadership skills.
• Sound financial management knowledge.
• High standards of professional ethics, values and integrity.
