PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHER
(Language & Literacy Specialist)
Mico Practising Primary School, 1A Manhattan Road, Kingston 5, invites applications for a trained Primary Teacher specializing in Language Arts and Literacy.

Trained Teacher – Language & Literacy Specialist (Grades 4–6)
Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering quality Language Arts and Literacy instruction, with special emphasis on improving reading comprehension, writing skills and PEP Language Arts performance, including support for at-risk learners.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Education, Literacy, or Language & Linguistics will be an asset.
- Must be registered or eligible for registration with the Jamaica Teaching Council (JTC).
- Training in Literacy Intervention / Reading Recovery will be a distinct advantage.
Required Competencies
- Excellent knowledge of the NSC Language Arts Curriculum for Grades 4–6.
- Ability to diagnose and remediate literacy challenges.
- Proficiency in differentiated instruction.
- Good interpersonal skills to engage parents in literacy development.
- Willingness to participate in co-curricular activities.
- Strong classroom management and commitment to student development.
