Job Summary
The Payroll Officer is responsible for accurately processing and administering employee payroll in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with company policies, tax regulations, and labour laws. This role maintains payroll and attendance records, manages deductions and benefits, and resolves payroll-related queries.
Key Responsibilities
- Print weekly time and attendance sheet for supervisors’ approval.
- Update weekly time and attendance records, including vacation, sick, and casual leave.
- Process monthly and weekly payroll for all employees accurately and on schedule.
- Assist in the preparation of commissions calculated monthly and quarterly.
- Maintain and update employee payroll records, including time and attendance, salaries, bonuses, overtime, and deductions.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements such as income tax, pensions, and other payroll-related laws.
- Prepare and submit payroll reports, tax filings, and statutory returns to relevant authorities.
- Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Handle employee queries regarding pay, deductions, benefits, and leave balances.
- Maintain confidentiality of payroll information and employee records.
- Process new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, and promotions in the payroll system.
- Coordinate with HR and Finance departments on employee data and payments.
- Assist with audits by providing payroll documentation and reports.
